20.07.05 - RE5 Announced for Xbox360 and PS2
Obviously it was going to happen, but now its confirmed. There are some screenshots attatched to this article.

Famitsu magazine recently revealed that Resident Evil 5 is currently in development for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next-generation consoles. Here are a few choice bits of info from the accompanying interview with producer Jun Takeuchi:

? If you can't tell from the scans, the title will take place in the desert, and at least partly during the day. Somewhat of an atmospheric change for the series, that.

? The controls will be based off of Resident Evil 4's control scheme.

? Enemies will have much more character and personality. Takeuchi notes Ganado from RE4 as an example.

? Many of the staff who worked on the original Resident Evil will be making a return to work on this title.

? Don't expect this out anytime soon; Takeuchi stated that any project that aims to surpass the standards set by RE4 would more than likely take three to five years to complete.
