6 years has passed since last time this happened, but apparently 3D realms still likes to pretend they're working on a new Nukem game, and just released a new teaser.
Several people had been secretly working late nights and into the wee hours of the morning preparing a special video for those at the party," said Siegler in a post on the official 3D Realms Web site. "We'd like to thank the people on the team that worked so hard to create this teaser and the friends of 3DR that helped create it (Jeremy Soule and Julian Soule, Frank Bry, Jason Evigan and of course, Jon St. John)."
The keyword here being TEASER, because untill further proof that this game actually exist surfaces, the title gives the best indication of how long it will take them to finish the damn thing.
neat trailer, there's code there for the next nukem... there has to be after all this time, it whether if its all engine and poc work or something resembling a game.
Lets hope they aren't looking at a console release.
I remember buying the Duke Nukem 3D in Austria and payed about 200 schillings for it.
It was a revolutionary game back in its time. The coolest 3D shooter out there.
They tried to sold many add-ons and expansion packs for it (I never bought any of those).
Looking at those screeners (thx for them spud) I was thinking about that maybe 3D Realms wants to create a revolutionary game again. The problem is that the graphics and the whole thing doesn't look that good, compared to other games already available.
The latest screener looks promisiong although it doesn't look like in-game sequences. The two posted by spud do look like in-game sequences, but don't look good.
Maybe they are still working on it but want to be ahead of their time - that might be the issue. They didn't want to release the game earlier because they realised that it wasn't good enough and nobody would have bought it.
