19.02.06 - Mad Uwe Boll still doesn't get he's crap
This article made me laugh out loud... Dr boll still doesn't understand that the hostility comes from the fact that he's a terrible, terrible director in a lot of people's minds...
Quote:
Uwe Boll is mad. Very mad, even. In a recent interview with eurogamer.net, he went on record as saying such gems like, "The dangerous thing right now is that a lot of people bash me without thinking about the movies. It's fashionable to hit on Uwe Boll, and this is what I don't get. And I don't get why this comes so harshly from the games press."

He then goes on to complain that video games are a hard source to make into a movie because they lack the characterization and sophisticated narrative to make a compelling film. Apparently, Uwe likes to play the games that just make the big booms (which is probably why Alone in the Dark is more of a monster-action film than the survival horror it should be).

Boll also goes on to say that video game journalists should be happy that video game movies are even being made since it's a hard sell to Hollywood producers. This may very well be the case, but one has to imagine what the pitch for House of the Dead was like.

Through it all though, Boll is looking at walking away from video game movies for some time once he is done with Far Cry. He feels that it would make everybody happy. Of course, he said the word maybe. So who knows? That script for Fear Effect could appear and he could be back.

Before Far Cry though, we have another Uwe Boll film to look forward to in Postal based on the PC games of the same name. From what Boll says in the interview, Postal could very well be his most controversial movie yet. Then again, people will have to see it to make that choice. Only time will tell.
