The radiation from a fallen satellite causes the recently deceased to rise from the grave and seek the living to use as food. This is the situation that a group of people penned up in an old farmhouse must deal with.
This release is the original movie and not the remake. It is exactly the same as the Black and White movie but it has been colourised (always reminds me of the "Casablanca" joke in Gremlins 2). Take a look at the screen shots if you don't know what i'm talking about.
There are no subs or foreign soundtracks on the DVD, sorry for all those that would like them. This is a true classic so I'd recommend everyone grabs it.
The film itself is the pinnacle of low budget horror, perhaps the greatest low budget film ever created. In terms of Zombie films, this has only been surpassed by its sequels and this is no small task. The film embodies all of the elements that make a great horror films and packages under the guise of this gritty doomsday scenario, with a world plagued by the walking dead. This film spawned a host of sequels, and an army of rip offs.

This is the Colourised STAX release DVD, containg a B&W and colour version of the film on it.
This rip has been professionally colourised and looks pretty good considering it was filmed in black and white. However, it is noticeable 'chalky' still and the fire looks unconvincing. I prefer the black and white simply because of atmosphere and that was how the film was shot, still this shows you how it would have looked in colour.
