Despite its radicalisation of the storyline, its devout religious themes that would have probably drove H.G. Wells to suicide, and the now all american blurb over victorian britain slant; this movie is still a critical recommendation for Sci-Fi virgins. The movie has so profoundly made its way into the mindset of science fiction audiences since its release, that despite its flaws it is still a movie fondly remembered.

hills. Thier joy is tempered some what when they discover it has passengers who
are not very friendly. The movie itself is understood better when you consider
it was made at the height of the Cold War - just replace Martian with Russian...
