The Miskatonic maniac is back! H. P. Lovecraft's premier terror creation Doctor Herbert West returns with that
sinister luminous green fluid to revive more corpses in Beyond Re-Animator, the highly anticipated second sequel
to director Stuart Gordon's 1985 horror classic that balanced black humor with bad taste and off-color kinkiness
with inspired splatter.
Director Brian (Society) Yuzna, gore make-up wizard Screaming Mad George and original Re-animator and
Bride of Re-animator star Jeffrey Combs all return to accompany West on his latest slippery downward slope into
paranoia and medical madness. For the imprisoned West has been carrying on his shocking experiments in jail and
is now determined to transfer the soul of one creature to another.
His first experiment is on a prison warden who slowly turns into a rat monster.
Another inmate, Speedball (cult Spanish director Santiago Segura), uses the reagent for recreational drug purposes
with suitably nasty results. Then Laura Olney (Elsa Pataky) is killed in a tragic accident and West persuades her
lover (Jason Barry) to reanimate her... Complete with a flying half-man zombie, assorted guts hanging out of every orifice,
mutilation, gushers of blood and a spectacular sequence where fifteen Death Row convicts are revived while still
wriggling in their nooses, Beyond Re-Animator does justice to the much-loved series.
