In the beginning of this film we meet a documentary team of three young men and a young woman. They are heading for the south-American jungle to search for real cannibals. After a while the crew is reported missing and a rescue team is send from the US. This team gets in touch with an amazon tribe called the Tree-people. The tree-people gives them the only remains of the first crew - the filmrolls containing the material this crew shot during their search for real cannibals. Back in the US we get to see these films. We now get to see exactly what happened to the first crew.
Cut A truely uncensored version of this is unlikely to ever surface. The most uncut version is the EC entertainment 2-Disc Superbit DVD. This is the longest edition of the film ever released on DVD or Laserdisc. It includes 3 small cuts missing from the Italian DVD and the re-mastered EC Entertainment DVD, and 1 cut which is missing from the German DVD, Cult epics VHS/Laserdisc, and the first EC Entertainment DVD. Among these cuts are additional material added to the 'Last Road to Hell' sequence with real child executions and added snippets of dialogue.
Banned or cut in a lot of countries, the US deluxe version is as uncut as you can get it stateside. A superbit version will be the most uncut if you can find it.
