This movie really embraces the essence of the Horror genre, and why these movies get in to our minds and souls. It depicts an era of filmmaking in the 60's and 70's that was radical and mind blowing in an American society in social chaos. They dealt with issues on the Vietnam War, civil rights and even the very foundation patriarchal society is built upon, in which we are confronted with our primordial drives that are repressed in every day life. It went from being garbage entertainment to an art form. The documentary gives an in depth insight on the viewpoints of director's such; as Tobe Hooper, Wes Craven, David Cronenberg, George Romero and others, and the films they created.
