Most of the passengers on an airplane disappear, and the remainder land the plane in a mysteriously barren airport.
With what seems consistent through all Stephen King works, the concept is very appealing and sound. However, it is normally in the execution where the concept falls flat on it's back, and this case is similar. Like It, Langoliers presents some shoddy acting (the blind girl is terrible), but this is partially overcome by the story. However, like It the Langoliers seems to linger on too long and because of this is slightly boring.
